How to get your house ready to sell

Are you getting ready to sell your house in this challenging market? With so many houses on the market you need to make your house rise above the competition. Houses in Southern New Jersey are plentiful and what is going to set yours apart

Clutter – Don’t leave things out, make the extra effort to put things away when not in use. Too much furniture can also make rooms look smaller

Paint – Use neutral colors in all areas, get rid of wallpaper. I like to look at it like a blank canvas, ready for an inspiring artist to create their own vision. Try not to think of it as your home anymore and as hard as that may be will work for you. Curb appeal – Can’t replace a first immpression. Make sure the front of your house is very appealing. Some landscaping and painting go a long way.

Lending a hand to help with Spina Bifida

Brennan’s Custom Painting, a South Jersey painting contractor,  was more than happy to donate the popular “Painter For A Day” program to help support the Spina Bifida Resource Network at the fall Adelphia event. The fundraiser held On November 1, 2010 at Adelphia’s Restaurant in Deptford, NJ was to raise proceeds going directly towards providing programs for children, teens and adults with spina bifida. The event brought famalies together in a network for learning, sharing and educating the public about the prevention of spina bifida.

Painter for A Day program is a program where Brennan’s Custom Painting can tackle that honey do list, paint a bedroom or bathroom, caulking, seemingly endless value.  For an eight hour working day all that is needed is a list of what needs to be done and let them go. Exterior Commercial Painting in Pennsauken, NJ

Brennan’s Custom Painting recently completed an exterior commercial painting project in Pennsauken, NJ. An elastomeric coating was applied to all the concrete surfaces after repairs, completely waterproofing the building. A properly completed job like this will last for many years to come with outstanding value over time to our customers.

Volunteer Painting Project in Pitman NJ

When school budgets get cut, the community steps in!

Last week I sent one of my painters to help paint a large closet unit for one of the elementary schools in Pitman, NJ. Neil Haley, a facility manager for Pitman Manor volunteered to build the 30′ wall unit that took him several days. Our painter was able to help him do the final prep and apply the finishing coats of fresh paint.Neil building the wall closet

Recent House Painting Testimonial in Delran, NJ

Brennan’s Custom Painting recently finished painting a large stairwell and upper hallways of a home in Delran, NJ. This was our client’s first experience with us, and here is the testimonial they wrote about us on Angie’s List this week:

From the beginning, I could tell Brennan’s would be a good company to use. Craig came to do the estimate within days of contacting him. He was honest and up front about the work they could perform (fixing imperfections, correcting drywall seams, etc). I had him give an estimate for the greatest amount of work, which came in a little too high for my budget, but Craig was very willing to adjust the work provided, and meet me in the middle to get the job done. He was very accomodating to my schedule as there was only one week I was around. I then spoke with a painter named Justin, who was setting up a time to come prep, and though he was working another job at the same time, I never felt like that one took priority over my much smaller job. Justin set me up with a great painter, Bruce, who did great work on the stairwell. When they were done, the guys vacuumed and cleaned up, and the paint looked GREAT! Everyone who came by was also great with our dog, a 75-lb Chocolate Lab, which was a plus, because he got loose and tried to jump up on them when they came in and out of our house. Everyone was on time, and the work was completed on schedule and as priced. Absolutely use Brennan’s Custom Painting!

American Cancer Society Charity Painting

Members of the South Jersey Painting & Decorating Contractors of Amercia, including Past-President Craig Brennan of Brennan’s Custom Painting partnered in April 2010 to paint the offices in the Cherry Hill, NJ headquarters. The South Jersey PDCA has been doing annual projects like these for several years now to give back to our community throughout Southern New Jersey. The PDCA is the voice of the professional painting industry and all these members are proud to represent the association for such a great cause like the American Cancer Society. All material was donated by the Sherwin Williams Company

Cherry Hill, NJ Interior Painting – Angie’s List review

The owner, Craig Brennan (who is himself a member of Angie’s List), was extremely professional when he came to give the estimate — no hard sell at all, answered all questions, and e-mailed the estimate within the time frame he had given. His price was slightly higher than the two other estimates I got, but I felt he was the most professional and trustworthy of the three. Plus, we were provided the services of an interior designer at no charge to help us choose colors. Lynne Nelson, the designer, was extremely helpful, particularly in choosing a color for a kitchen to match very old, dark cabinets. The job took about six days. All of the painters were pleasant, and professional, particularly the foreman, Manny, who kept us contantly abreast of what was completed, what time they would arrive and leave, and what areas they would be doing next. They cleaned up after themselves every day, and paid particular attention to this when they had to stop over the weekend. The owner, Craig, also stopped by twice during the job to check on everything. Two glitches came up during the job, one of which was their responsibility and one not, but both of which they took care of. When I noticed that they had painted part of one wall the wrong color, they apologized immediately for the miscommunication and corrected the mistake right away, staying later than usual to fix it. Also, when my automatic garage door happened to break while they were here (just a fluke and not their responsibility), their handyman came the next day and repaired it for us at no charge — saved us a call and money for garage door repair! Only thing that could have been handled more smoothly was the communication about scheduling the job. Craig had e-mailed us a tentative date, but I then did not hear from him again and had to contact him as the date got close to confirm it. Overall, however, the house looks great, the owner and painters were a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend this company

We recently finished a larger painting project for a new client in Swedesboro NJ. The scope of work consisted of painting a number of rooms in the interior along with the wood trim.
